On September 20, 2025, the Conference on Indigenous Heritage took place: The Rebirth of Kabrca, an Old-World Sound of Connection. A book was also published on the occasion of the conference.
The rebirth of kabrca
The Conference on Indigenous Heritage represented the culmination of a seven-year series of preparatory symposia on the topic of the Christianization of Slovenia and the reestablishment of the old faith in our territory.
The event focused on presenting the latest research on the significance of the kabrca, an old-faith instrument that was used—and is being used again—as an instrument for spiritual dimensions.
The event raised awareness of this exceptional traditional instrument. Key musicians, performers, and spiritual creators performed on the kabrca—those who were among the first to play it and who continue to do so.
